“You thinking I’m a Mad?
But, mad only becoming famous!
Woman strong, mother strong, sister strong; then country strong!
I not study IIT, but IIT study me!”

It’s a dialogue from Akshay Kumar starrer movie #PadMan which is fully base on social awareness of women menstruation.

The story of the film is influenced by the Real PadMan of India Arunachalam Muruganantham (Padmashree Awardee social entrepreneur) of Tamil Nadu. He is the inventor of a low-cost sanitary pad making machine and has innovated grass-roots mechanisms for generating awareness about traditional unhygienic practices around menstruation in rural India. ‘Menstrual Man‘ is a Documentary Film and the film was nominated for Best Feature Documentary at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards at 2013, which was fully based on his life story. Even, Bill Gates, the richest person on the world, was influenced by his life story.

“No human being ever died because of poverty. Everything happens because of ignorance.”

Hats off to Real PadMan of India #ArunachalamMuruganantham
